How the VA Rates Fibromyalgia

Widespread musculoskeletal pain with tender points, plus fatigue, sleep disturbance, stiffness, headaches, IBS, or depression. Another Gulf War presumptive. If treatment isn’t working, get “refractory to therapy” documented — that phrase is the 40% gate.

Evidence That Wins This Claim

  • 'Refractory to therapy' in your records = the 40% criteria.
  • Gulf War veterans: presumptive service connection.
