How the VA Rates Hypothyroidism

Since the 2017 revision, hypothyroidism itself holds 30% only for the first 6 months; after that the VA rates each residual under its own body system. The play is identifying and claiming every residual: fatigue and cognitive effects, depression, weight-related joint aggravation, and cardiovascular involvement.

Evidence That Wins This Claim

  • Claim each residual explicitly — the thyroid code alone drops to 0%.
  • Myxedema periods rate 100% while active.
